“Good things comes to those that wait…but better things come to those who are patient.” ~Unknown
“Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” ~Isaiah 40:30-33

Tomorrow I will be on my way to Dallas, with my sister Judy! We are going for the Emotional Intelligence Seminar. It is exciting for me.  We have never traveled together like this, so it will be a special treat for us, not to mention we are going for training! As I wait for tomorrow, I am reminded that good things come to those that wait!
Happy For A Reason Reasons:
1.       Ron was willing for me to take this trip to Dallas with Judy!
2.       The feelings of excitement that come with waiting for something good!
3.       Only one more day!
4.       The hope of sleeping on the plane! (Since I have to work until six in the morning, and I have to be at the airport by seven, this sounds good to me!)
5.       Believe it or not….I got my blog posts caught up to October 22, 2011!

February 19, 2012~
Flyers come in the mail all the time and I don’t usually pay much attention to them. This one was different! Big Sales on all appliances! Great, I need a new kitchen stove! So, this morning Ron and I headed into town early, because I wanted to be there when they opened at ten! Another couple was trying the door when I arrived. It was locked! Hmmm….
Ron and I saw that someone was inside, so we decided to go to the door anyway. The store owner came to the door. He told us that they were opening at noon, and was just there for a few moments but he would let us in. We told him what we wanted. Taking us right to what he thought we wanted, there in plan sight was a $100 off the sales price sign on it. He said, “Oh, that is wrong!” It is suppose to be $50 off. But since my employees made the mistake, I will honor it.” It was already the lowest priced stove we had looked at. Needless to say we paid the price and it will be delivered to our house on Tuesday! We left feeling totally blessed, and yes, I looked at the flier to see if it really had said the store would open at ten. Nope, it said noon! My angel must have told me 10! ~Smile~
Happy For A Reason Reasons:
1.       The owner of the appliance store let us in and we didn’t have to wait two hours for the store to open!
2.       We quickly found the kitchen stove we needed!
3.       We bought it for an excellent bargain price!
4.       Fun time shopping with Ron! A rare occasion.
5.       While shopping at Winco, a little birdie flew in and showed us right where the almonds and pecans were, as it landed on the bulk food bin signs, bring a smile to our faces! (If I ever figure out how to get the picture off my old phone, I’ll be sure to post it!)

Welcome Sabbath Day!

February 17, 2012~
A day off, and on nothing less than the Preparation Day! I had big plans! Ron was working in the office today and was off to work very early. The day was mine! I’d clean up after breakfast, fix and freeze  a millet dish before I get the parent teacher conference call from La’Quon’s teachers. Next I would hurry into town to run several  errands, return home, only to scurry around getting the house cleaned up. The more I thought about it, the more overwhelmed I felt. It would be too much. I’d be able to get it all done but by the time Sabbath arrived, I’d be exhausted. It would not be conducive for preparing my heart for the Sabbath. I’d have several errands and chores done, but my heart would not be prepared for welcoming the Sabbath. My decision was to lay aside the errands and have a much more relaxing day. The outcome, I was ready for Sabbath, even in my heart!
Happy For A Reason Reasons:
1.       I have choices!
2.       I chose a slower paced day!
3.       Meals in the freezer for Ron.
4.       Good communication with La’Quon’s teachers.
5.       Ahh….the best one, Sabbath is here!

Brooklyn

On April 11, 2012, I became Grandmama! I can not express the joy that little Brooklyn has brought into our lives, and as I pause to ponder the events of the last 11 days, I shiver, to think that we nearly lost her.

"He has made everything beautiful in His time..." Ecc. 3:11
Brooklyn was born at 13:25 (1:25 PM) after Juanita was in labor nearly 18 hours.  But she was born none too early. As Derrick, who was by Juanita’s side through it all, the nurses and I were encouraging and trying to be of help to Juanita, I listened and heard the concerns that Brooklyn may be in distress. One final push and she was born, given to mommy, for only a few seconds. Little Brooklyn was grey, limp and not breathing. They quickly took her and started CPR right there in the room.  A fury of activity was going on, nurses, doctors, respiratory therapists…. You name it there were there, all working to save our precious little one! All I could do was pray, make a quick call and send two texts, asking for prayers.  Telling Juanita and Derrick that I was going to get Grandma Cecilia, I left the room.   Once Grandma Cecilia and I were back by the door way, we could still see that they were working feverishly. Over a period of 10 minutes or so we watched and listened. Suddenly our hearts were filled with great joy! We heard her first cry and the rest is history!  Enjoy the pictures of our little miracle baby who is truly a river of joy for her Mother, Father, and Grandparents!

"For every minute you are angry, you lose 60 seconds of happiness."Anonymous

Last night, or should I say this morning, was a slam dunk of a night! Well at least the slam, I am not so sure of the dunk! Ambulance after ambulance from midnight on! I was in the back doing the registration, after 3 AM. Started out with a code and went from there, with not a moment to rest…thankfully, when 6 am came around the next shift came on and we were able to work together so I was able to leave with everything I had started done, and the patient financial discharges under control! Phew…..!
Happiness For A Reason Reasons:
1.       A new appreciation for my co-workers who work in the back!
2.       The night, or morning, went by quickly! One of the benefits of being extremely busy!
3.       The team work I enjoyed when my relief, Brook, came to work!
4.       Good health!
5.       A comfortable bed to fall into so I can get my much needed sleep!
