October 31

October 31, 2011 ~

Here we sit, waiting to catch our plane home. It has been a wonderful weekend! I figured that this would be a great time to catch up on my e-mails. I start with one from Mother! As I read, I know it is just what I want to share with you today! May I have such a quilt someday!
Happy For A Reason Reasons:
1.       A  God who is there when life is hard and full of struggles!
2.       A  guided tour through a saw mill where I could see the machines and layout of equipment that Ron designed. (It actually got me thinking about my relationship with God…I’ll share that on another day!)
3.       The rain waited until we were ready to head home, before it decided to let loose!
4.       Great airline attendants and pilots!
5.       A non-eventful flight home! Ahh….nice to be home!

October 30

October 30, 2011 ~
We headed out for the East side of Glacier, this morning. The awesome beauty that we saw was wonderful. The storm packed with wind, snow and rain, was not so wonderful. Inspite of the weather, we were still able to enjoy the wonderful splender that God created for our enjoyment!

He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!" Then he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true." ~Revelation 21:5, NIV
Yesterday, as well as today,  I saw both: magnificent beauty and devastation, while in Glacier National Park. I saw the devastation that fires had caused in the park the year Ron and I had tried to take our family, only to have the smoke from fires cause us to turn back. Thousands of acres burned. It reminds me of the promise God gave us in Revelation 21:5.
Someone once asked a politician, “Have you kept all the promises that you made during the campaign?” He responded, “Yes . . . well, at least all the promises that I intended to keep.”
I’ve been on the end of broken promises before, just as everyone else has been. Sadly, I have to admit that I have also broken promises that I had made. Sometimes people make a promise with the full intention of keeping it, but later for some reason or other, they don’t. It may be as simple as they forgot. There are others who make a promise, knowing full well that they have no intentions of keeping it, as the sound of the words leave their mouth, or the letters their finger tips. How fortunate we are that God’s promises are entirely different! God’s Word is true and it can be trusted. I think that is a perfect place to start my Happy Reasons!
Happy For A Reason Reasons:
1.       A God who keeps His promises!
2.       Someday God will create a new earth, where there will never again be such devastation caused by fires.
3.       A beautiful drive to the eastern side of Glacier National Park.
4.       Protection from the wind, rain, and snow!  It was so nice to be able to get back into the warm car after taking pictures. It is much colder on this side of the park and at times snow was falling.
5.       More spectacular views as we enjoy our time at Glacier!

More pictures to enjoy.....

Headed for East Glacier

And now we are headed back to the motel...

October 29, 2011 ~
Happy Sabbath! I don’t believe there is a much better way to spend it, then to be out in God’s awesome creation. Today, our destination was Avalanche Lake in Glacier National Park. As we hiked along the creek bed and waterfalls, all my stress melted away. I never realized what a treat awaited me around the bend. Ron’s voice calling to me, made me hurry along. Quite an awesome site soon came into view. We were standing along the lake shore at the bottom of the bowl. Just standing there in the quiet, made my spirit soar in gratitude towards my creator God! I feel so close to Him here, I just want to sing!
After the hike to Avalanche Lake, we had time for a drive north to Polebridge before the sun went down. What a treat we had in store for us!
Happy For A Reason Reasons:
1.       A wonderful hiking partner!
2.       Cameras! Digital Cameras! No need to worry about the cost of film!
3.       Glacier National Park!
4.       Friendly people as we hike along.
5.       A God who created such awesome beauty for our enjoyment!

Getting yet another picture!

Looking across the lake at the area that burned September 2003, the year we had tried to visit Glacier..... but all you could see was smoke!

Take Time

Take Time to think; it is the source of power.
Take Time to read; it is the foundation of wisdom.
Take Time to play; it is the secret of staying young.
Take Time to be quiet; it is the moment to seek God.
Take Time to be aware; it is the opportunity to help others.
Take Time to love and be loved; it is God's greatest gift.
Take Time to laugh; it is the music of the soul.
Take Time to be friendly; it is the road to happiness.
Take Time to dream; it is what the future is made of.
Take Time to pray; it is the greatest power on earth.
~Author Unknown

Sometimes we need to be reminded that we need to take time to do some of the things that seem to get crowded out, because of the busy lives we live. Today, Ron and I are doing just that, as we set the daily routine and cares aside!  Relax with us, and enjoy the pictures!
Happy For A Reason Reasons:

1.       A safe and uneventful flight to Montana.
2.       A Jeep Ranger, four wheel drive, to rent! Always wanted one of these….now I have been there, done that!  My van is just fine! (Smile)
3.       Very nice, clean motel to stay in, with a kitchen!
4.       Very courteous, pleasant motel receptionist!
5.       We made it to Glacier National Park! What beauty….. enjoy the pictures!
