October 30, 2011 ~
We headed out for the East side of Glacier, this morning. The awesome beauty that we saw was wonderful. The storm packed with wind, snow and rain, was not so wonderful. Inspite of the weather, we were still able to enjoy the wonderful splender that God created for our enjoyment!
He who was seated on the throne said,
"I am making everything new!" Then he said, "Write this down,
for these words are trustworthy and true."
~Revelation 21:5, NIV
Yesterday, as well as today, I saw both: magnificent beauty and
devastation, while in Glacier National Park. I saw the devastation that fires
had caused in the park the year Ron and I had tried to take our family, only
to have the smoke from fires cause us to turn back. Thousands of acres
burned. It reminds me of the promise God gave us in Revelation 21:5.
Someone once asked a politician, “Have you kept all the
promises that you made during the campaign?” He responded, “Yes . . . well,
at least all the promises that I intended to keep.”
I’ve been on the end of broken promises before, just as
everyone else has been. Sadly, I have to admit that I have also broken
promises that I had made. Sometimes people make a promise with the full
intention of keeping it, but later for some reason or other, they don’t. It
may be as simple as they forgot. There are others who make a promise, knowing
full well that they have no intentions of keeping it, as the sound of the
words leave their mouth, or the letters their finger tips. How fortunate we
are that God’s promises are entirely different! God’s Word is true and it can
be trusted. I think that is a perfect place to start my Happy Reasons!
Happy For A Reason Reasons:
1.
A God who keeps His promises!
2.
Someday God will create a new earth, where
there will never again be such devastation caused by fires.
3.
A beautiful drive to the eastern side of
Glacier National Park.
4.
Protection from the wind, rain, and snow! It was so nice to be able to get back into
the warm car after taking pictures. It is much colder on this side of the
park and at times snow was falling.
5.
More spectacular views as we enjoy our time at
Glacier!
Headed for East Glacier
