March 2

March 2, 2011~
It does, sound, and feel like March today! What a wet, blustery day it has turned out to be. It is nice to be in where I am warm, dry, and out of the reach of that cold blustery wind. Even though the weather outside is not the most pleasant, I am reminded once again, that there is a sun shining above those dark, gloomy, rain laden clouds! Yes, there can be “sunshine, in my soul today!
There is sunshine in my soul today,
More glorious and bright
Than glows in any earthly sky,
For Jesus is my light.

Chorus:
O there's sunshine, blessed sunshine,
While the peaceful, happy moments roll;
When Jesus shows His smiling face
There is sunshine in my soul.

There is music in my soul today,
A carol to my King;
And Jesus, listening, can hear
The song I cannot sing.

There is springtime in my soul today,
For when the Lord is near
The dove of peace sings in my heart,
The flowers of grace appear.

There is gladness in my soul today,
And hope, and praise, and love,
For blessings which He gives me now,
For joys laid up above.
This is a song that I have sung since I was very young. In fact, I remember many a time, singing this song as I was riding along in the car with my Father! Never did realize, then, how the words of this song would come back to my memory and help lift my thoughts toward Heaven, encouraging me to keep looking up! Yes, my Jesus, listens, to even the song I cannot sing, as He draws me near to Him, filling me with hope, praise, love and blessings more abundant than I could ever dream!
Happy For A Reason reason’s:
1.       The sunshine that I have in my life because Jesus is my light!
2.       My Jesus is always near!
3.       The peace that Jesus gives me!
4.       The hope I have because of what Jesus did, and is doing, for me!
5.       The joy that I am filled with because of my dear sweet Jesus!
The song, There Is Sunshine In My Soul Today, was written by Eliza E. Hewitt, in the 1800’s. Eliza has suffered a severe back injury, but after six months in a cast, she was finally able to take a simple walk in the park. The joy she felt at her partial recovery prompted these words. She remained an invalid the rest of her life but left us with many wonderful hymns.
